Business Plan Writer: Paul Broni

I have a unique set of skills and experiences that, at least in my opinion, make me a great choice as a business plan writer.

Back in the '80s, I went to college at University of Maryland and majored in Finance. After that, I dabbled in a few business ventures that involved futures trading and real estate investment.

By 1988, I decided that a "real job" would be a good experience for me, and I ended up at what is now Bank of America. I was there for almost ten years, and in 1998 I resigned a position as a relationship manager in commercial banking. I was successful in that position, but I wanted to do my own thing again.

That is when I formed Mercury Partners. Much of what I did in this business revolved around the "dot-com" boom; most of my clients were start-ups in search of capital. I wrote business plans and prepared presentations for them. I also taught my clients what to do and what not to do while they tried to raise money. It was during this time that I had several articles on small business banking published in Inc. Magazine.

While I was growing Mercury Partners, my wife started an email marketing services company called Inbox Interactive. This business was really taking off, so I made the decision to give up Mercury Partners so that I could help grow my wife's business. I took on responsibilities for business development and client services. Naturally, I also handled all of the finances.

Inbox Interactive still exists, but I recently realized that I miss working with other entrepreneurs. I really enjoy hearing about people's ideas and plans for new businesses, and I think I can offer a lot of guidance and feedback along the way. In addition, I enjoy business writing very much. While some people may dread the idea of writing business plans, I actually find it very interesting.
